Some features of regional functioning of law enforcement agencies in Russia in 1920—30 in South Urals.

Annotation. The author examines the development of relations between citizens and the police in the transition period of state from war to peace, when new traditions appeared in law enforcement agencies and new legislative basis was formed. Militia’s excesses which led to citizens’ steady hostility to law enforcement agencies were analyzed.

Annotation. The article discusses some problems in the field of combating money laundering, and also contains a proposal to provide the bodies, carrying out OSA, the authority for temporary prohibition on financial transactions with funds or other property acquired by criminal means.

On some problems of proving and operative-search work when carrying out judicial inquiry in a shortened form.

Annotation. The article analyzes some provisions of the Code of criminal procedure of the Russian Federation of problematic nature concerning legal regulation of obtaining and securing evidence when carrying out the inquiry in a shortened form. In particular, the authors have analyzed certain principles of the criminal proceedings that are relevant to the process of proving in a criminal case subjected to comparative analysis of the items of proving in a criminal case to the inquiry both in a general manner and in a shortened form; the potential legal consequences of the simplification of procedure and evidence to the inquiry in a shortened form are studied.

Annotation. The monograph «Interrogation: tactics and technologies» by Bertovsky L.V. is reviewed. The monograph is devoted to the problems arising during investigators’ questioning. Relevance, scientific and practical importance as well as originality of the monograph are noted.. The viewer critically remarks that only a small part of monograph covers the issue of adoption of decisions on interrogation. The reviewer comes to the conclusion that the monograph may contribute to the development of investigators’ professional thinking; it may expand their knowledge on communication psychology during the interrogation and the possibilities to keep or change the developing situations.
